Improve Your Finances Using the Law of Attraction

Posted on July 8th, 2008

Are you having trouble financially? It seems like so many people have this problem. Some reach for an additional credit card, a bank loan or sometimes just a shoulder to cry on. However, others in the know turn to the Law of Attraction to improve their finances. I admit that my wife and I were in a similiar position, we have struggled financially until we started to use this Universal Law to improve our finances often we had very speedy results!

Perhaps if you are new to this blog you are wondering, “What is the Law of Attraction?” Put simply, the Law of Attraction is that thoughts become things and that like attracts like. So whatever you are thinking is going to create your reality. Whatever is in your world is also a true reflection of what you think and believe. Don’t like what you see? Then this is the perfect time to work on changing your thinking today!

Many people need to improve their thinking when it comes to their finances. Some of us grow up with very negative messages about money and finances. We believe that you always have to struggle to get money. That earning a living is always hard. That paying your bills is always stressful. That rich people are always snobs. That only “lucky” people are rich. That only evil or unethical people can manage to be rich. Perhaps looking at these beliefs has made you think about some of your own beliefs about money or finances. Remember that often we pick up our beliefs from our family and friends. So examine what beliefs you may have gotten from these people in your life. These beliefs may not even be your own — but you may be carrying them around and may be greatly affected by them.

To change your beliefs there are a number of things you can do. The first thing is to create a practice of gratitude. Be grateful for the wealth and abundance that you already have in your life. “But I don’t have anything!” you may be protesting. You may feel that way, but look around: you probably have something to eat for your next meal, clean clothes to wear for tomorrow and a bed to sleep in. Be grateful for the basic things and then start being grateful for all of the “extras” that exist in your life, such as cable television or money to buy fun things every once and awhile.

A great way to extend your gratitude practice is to actually give some of your money to something you believe in. This may seem hard if you feel that you have very little, but remember that even just giving a dollar or two is a way to help someone who does not have that dollar. Your dollar makes a difference. Don’t give what you truly can’t afford, give from the heart. You’ll find that everything you give comes back to you so easily. The Law of Attraction says that like attracts like — so if you give generously: the Universe is going to give generously to you in return. Give to cause that really tugs at your heart: children, animals, the environment or anything else that you believe in.

Another way to improve your finances is to visualize yourself being financially abundant. Create a mini-movie that you show yourself inside your head of images that you feel make you feel financially successful. Whatever makes you feel financially successful. Perhaps it is a certain number coming up in your checking account. Or having a particular type of car. Or living at a certain address. Make this visualization as detailed as you can, and run it through your head several times a day.

You can also say affirmations several times a day to change your beliefs about finances and wealth. Affirmations are powerful but very gentle. Create positive statements in the present tense that you would like to create in your life. Say these statements repeatedly, at least two to three times a day and several times each time you say them. Soon this way of thinking will become a part of you.

Pay attention to the ways that your life can be changed and your finances can improve. A helpful person may enter your life. An opportunity may appear for a new job. Sometimes what appears is not quite, what you expect but is still exactly, what you need.
