Mission Impossible - Boomers Vs The Dream Team - Can They Win?
Posted on August 20th, 2008
Tonight Australians and Americans will be glued to their television screens as they watch the men’s
basketball. For Americans, it is probably considered an easy win because your team is considered to be unbeatable. So what about the Australians ? Is there any hope for them? Can they topple the unbeatable?
Mike McKay of the Herald Sun Newspaper believes it is possible, but it is all a matter of attitude. Mike claims that there is no such thing as a contest that you can not win at the Olympics. This should be the same attitude that you take into your everyday life - there is no battle or situation that you can not overcome.
The thinking that Mike states that the Aussies must avoid is:
We’ve got nothing to lose - let’s just go out there and give it a crack. This is not the attitude that you or the Boomers want to maintain because you are already focussed on defeat and not on winning. ‘Give it a crack’ - to me this implies that they are ready to have a go at winning but the expectation is that they will lose. Don’t go through life with this attitude - make it your expectation to always win - don’t ever doubt it.

Extraordinary Athletes - Don’t Let Age Stop Your Dreams
Posted on August 15th, 2008
I know that some of you reading this article are thinking - I’m to old to create my dreams, its all over for me. What a load of crap! Shame on you for even thinking those thoughts. You are never too old to achieve your dreams if you stay focused on them - visualise them - stay positive - remain impervious to anything that might happen outside of your control. What do Dara Torres, Hiroshi Hoketsu, Laurie Lever and Haile Satayin have in common? All of them are achieving their dreams in the Olympics despite their age.
Dara Torres is 41 years old and in the swimming pool this year at the Olympics competing against swimmers that are less than half her age. Was she competitive? Absolutely. She is a mother and an Olympian - it is never to late for you - hold onto your goals and the universe will deliver them to you.
Hiroshi Hokestu said “I feel relieved. If you have a goal, you can stay young. It would be good if people of my generation feel the same”. Who is he? He is the rider in the image, a 67 year old Japanese Olympian in the equestrian teams event. Hiroshi competed in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. For all of you that think you are too old to change your life, or achieve your goals remember this name - and never doubt your ability again.
To keep him company is a 60 year old Australian Laurie Lever who will compete in the horse jumping. How bad do you feel if your 40 years old and are feeling to old to achieve your goals? You have another 20 years and could be competing in the Olympics. It is really time to now change your mindset.

The Olympic Games Series
Posted on August 10th, 2008
Hi Everyone, I don’t know about you but i have spent very too much time lately watching the Olympic games. Hey, it is okay, they only happen once every four years. What a pool of talent and feeling on display! There are some standout performances that I would like to bring to you in the next couple of articles. Now these articles are not necessarily about the huge winners like Phelps (although I will talk about him) but about athletes that have lived a dream, set their goals and never waivered, visualised their outcomes or known within themselves what they are capable of achieving and never let any external circumstances sway their progress. These are qualities and a way of life that we all should strive to follow. I know that you will enjoy the following articles about some of the current Olympians. For some true inspiration look at the following video of athlete Derek Redmond from the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
