Law of Attraction and Extreme Snowboarding

Posted on August 26th, 2008

Watch this video of Terje Haakonsen and hold onto the sides of your chair as you do - it is really extreme snowboarding. I have only ever been skiing on two occasions and one of them was in Switzerland (bragging a little) and I was terrified going up to the top of that mountain and going down by myself as even more terrifying. Terje Haakonsen takes it to a completely new level.

I ask myself two questions:

1. Why would someone want to go down a mountain like that ?

The Law of Attraction and The Movie ‘Click’

Posted on July 4th, 2008

I am a lover of movies and the other night my daughter hired ‘Click’ with Adam Sandler from the video store. My wife is not a big Adam Sandler fan, but I certainly am and have been since Happy Gilmour. Let me share the general plot of the movie.

Adam sandler plays an architect named Michael Newman and has the typical family with a great wife Donna and children Ben and Samantha. His parents play a great role in the movie and they are always visiting his home, his father is Henry Winkler (the Fonz). Michael is trying to make a better life for his family and as a consequence he works to much and put himself under enormous stress. His falls into the trap of putting his job before his family. When a tired Michael goes to a department store to buy a universal remote control, he rests on a bed and meets the weird salesman Morty that offers him a remote control capable of controlling his entire life. Michael gets used to fast forwarding through the ‘boring’ parts of his life so he can get to the good parts, but in doing so he loses control of his life and the remote control takes over. Using the remote Michael sees all the ‘unmissable’ parts of his personal life that went by while he was working. At the end of his life he realises that family comes first.

The Law of Attraction stipulates that ‘like attracts like’ - what we focus on, we will attract into our lives. In my free eCourse and upcoming LOA Power Strategies I really focus on the need to set your goals and turn them into intentions by adding massive detail and emotion. I then have ten Action Steps that teach people how to implement the Law of Attraction into their lives so they stay focussed on their intentions. It is important to stay focussed, so that you are continually emitting vibrations out into the universe for what you desire.

The message in the movie for me is that although it is important to focus on your intentions - it is also critical that you live in the moment and have gratitude for all that you have right now. Living in the moment and feeling real gratitude for the little things and the big things in your life is also critical to the Law of Attraction because it will attract more things into your life that you will be grateful for.

What Is The Secret Ingredient For The Law of Attraction?

Posted on July 2nd, 2008

The Law of Attraction has become incredibly popular since the worldwide release of the movie ‘The Secret’. The hype is absolutely warranted because when used correctly it can create anything that you want in life. ‘The Secret’ was very thorough and had many authorities speak about the Law of Attraction, they are all very successful and I many of the viewers simply expected that by focussing on what they want it would miraculously appear in their lap. Rubbish. It just does not happen that way. What is the secret ingredient for the Law of Attraction?

Let me tell you a story that my brilliant wife gave me that should enlighten you to the secret ingredient. Here goes..

A man watches the movie “The Secret” and decides that he wants to win lotto. So he spends the next 30 days:

  •  thinking about winning lotto
  • he visualises the lotto draw on television and can see each ball as it drops
  • he feels the elation, joy and freedom that comes with winning lotto
  • he imagines exactly what he will do with the winnings - a new sports car, big house, overseas travel

The Law of Attraction And Kung Fu Panda

Posted on July 1st, 2008

I took my thirteen year old son to see this movie and from the very start it seemed that I was destined to be in the cinema and absorb the messages that were being delivered. It was quite an amazing experience and so much so that my son looked over to me on several occasions and said, ‘Dad that is the Law of Attraction”.

Let me give you a rundown on the plot of the movie:

Kung Fu Panda is about a lazy panda, named Po, who dreams of being a Kung Fu legend despite working every day in his family’s noodle shop. By what appears to be total chance he is asked to fulfill an ancient prophecy and Po’s dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five — Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey — under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. Before very long the snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way and seeking revenge, and it’s up to Po to defend his village from the threat of Tai Lung. The movie is centered around whether Po can turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart and stomach into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.

There is so much to be taken from this movie. I remember one particular instance when the guru, Master Shifu talks to one of the kung fu experts. He looks into a pond and the water is moving around and he looks into the water and states that when your mind is not clearly focussed it is like the moving water, very difficult to look into, very blurry. Whereas, when the water is still the reflection is crystal clear, like when your mind is focussed. It was a clear message to me that you can achieve and see anything when your mind is clearly focussed.
